Preparing Your Child for Baby Vaccinations

Parents do not want their babies to cry especially during baby vaccinations. And of course, this is also no fun for the baby as well. However, baby vaccinations are still important to protect your child from the different diseases today. To make things a little easier for you and your child, you must know how to prepare before the day that your child will get his immunization shots.

There are some baby vaccinations that would cause fever to the child. If you want to prevent your baby from feeling any discomfort brought by the vaccination, you can ask your doctor about the dosage of the paracetamol that you can give to your child prior to the baby vaccinations.

You can also help comforting your child by bringing his favorite toy. Some babies can also find comfort from their pacifier after getting the shot.

By the time that the nurse already administers the vaccine, don’t look at the needle. Instead, look at your child’s eyes to assure him that everything will be alright. If your child sees that he could find comfort in you, then he would be brave enough to face the baby vaccinations as well. Do this even if you are also afraid of the needles just like him. Give your child the support he needs especially while the doctor give the immunization.
